Stuff I’ve Been Reading

Stuff I've Been Reading graphic

We’re almost to the end of the year! I’m sorry I’ve slacked off the past couple of weeks. But I’m here for you today. Next week I’ll be pulling together my favorite posts by you from this year, so if you have something you’re particularly proud of that you’d like to have considered, be sure to link it in the comments!

In the meantime, enjoy these posts from this week!

  • I seriously cannot wait for Addie Zierman’s book to be in my hands. And posts like this one about the miracle of Christmas are why. Honestly, if you’re not subscribed to Addie’s blog, please fix that.
  • Also in the “simply beautiful” category, I adored this post about Sandy Hook by Billy Coffey. I wish I had more to say, it just says it all.
  • Rachel Held Evans wrote one of my favorite responses to the idea that God can be kept out of anywhere. I love that this was her most shared post. Love. It.
  • I’m not a huge fan of the open letter, but I loved this open letter to Mike Huckabee from Kimberly Burkett. To those who are concerned that God is not in school, she suggests that maybe they’re just not looking hard enough.
  • My friend Joy gathered a collection of posts she’s written about grief. While these aren’t technically new posts, they are all worth reading, especially given what Joy has had to deal with regarding grief.
  • And because he’s been such a staple of my Sunday posts, I can’t let Shawn Smucker’s farewell post go without linking it up. I’m crazy sad that he won’t be blogging anymore, but I wish him all the best in his writing pursuits.
  • Completely changing gears, my friend Knox McCoy released a new Christmas short story. You can buy it for just $.99 over at Amazon and it’s worth it. Super funny and a little bit creepy. Just what you needed for the holiday.

What have you read/written/watched/listened to this week that moved you? Link it up in the comments!
